FREESAT SCRAMBLED ? OR ENCRYPTED ?

FREESAT SCRAMBLED ? OR ENCRYPTED ?

The simple answer to this is yes!
We read everywhere it is free-to-air! so lets define this encryption or scrambled theme.
For those Sky subscribers who insist on being able to see all of the Freesat data
this is untrue. For those Sky subscribers who say they can see all the channels that
Freesat will transmit is also incorrect as many Sky subscribers are still using
non-HD boxes so therefore will be unable to watch HD channels in HD from Freesat
never mind Sky.
Simple horizon to horizon satellite receivers with no HD compatibility obviously
cannot see HD transmissions either.
In other words if there is a box that cannot get FULL Freesat pictures and data
it must be classed as soft encrypted, and soft encrypted like no other box. As
the Freesat box is auto update this soft encryption may well be a factor built
into the Freesat receivers and future Freesat TV software.
Lets define further;
we are sorry to keep bringing this up, but the BBC research and inovation have
taken the trouble to design architecture within the Freesat boxes which will make
the Metadata invisible to ALL BOXES except Freesat boxes, is this not partial
encryption ? either way we now know the demand for something nobody could
see and that was the EPG from inside the Freesat box, did we mention nobody
could see the EPG with a Sky box or any other satellite receiver including the
very latest HD free-to-air receiver.
The moral;
anybody wishing to receive the NEW Freesat digital channels will need an
OFFICIAL LOGO'd Freesat receiver, this assures the customer and viewer
that the Freesat receiver conforms to the stringent tests made by DTG.
Is it news to you ? then you read it here first!
