GOODMANS GFSAT200HD REVIEW EXCLUSIVE.

GOODMANS GFSAT200HD REVIEW EXCLUSIVE.

GOODMANS GFSAT200HD BLACK FREESAT HD DIGITAL BOX was a delight to review and test for our report.
On receiving the Goodmans GFsat200HD set top box the first thing we noticed was the size of the HD packaging compared to the Goodmans gfsat100SD box. The HD has extra padding we pressume because of the HD architecture.
The Goodmans GFsat200HD is exactly the same as it's little brother the Goodmans GFsat100SD apart from the colour, the HD set top box is black and looks very chic whereas the SD looks very stylish with the silver finish, both have the unique blue front panel switch which is non obtrusive.
On switching on the Goodmans GFsat200HD for the first time the box checks and downloads all it needs to start doing it's thing. The Goodmans GFsat200HD is another brilliant box for those customers who will never ever want to dig into the insides of their set top boxes. This is another "set up and forget", set top box and we are delighted that no longer will there be any confusion with tuning in or problems for those viewers who will tell you, "I never touch that thing".
The Goodmans GFsat200HD tuned in all of the available channels ( I think it was 83? or thereabouts) and we tried it first using the scart, the result was similar to the Grundig Gufsat, and to say the picture is good understates it. We compared it with Freeview of which we get excellent pictures on all available channels, Goodmans GFsat200HD is better. We then tested the HDMI socket and on no channels could we spot flaws, the BBC HD was just stunning. The upscaling of the Goodmans GFsat200HD is similar to the Grundig Gufsat and also the Bush BFsat01HD, very impressive and we reckon the picture is what most viewers will make their number one choice before anything else.
The Goodmans GFsat200HD was tried on a Plasma screen and an LCD screen and on both the picture was comparable with a good quality DVD.
After having seen all Freesat boxes in action we cannot make up our minds which box has the best picture in HDMI, the vote is slightly ahead for me with this the Goodmans GFsat200HD.
I like the idea of the brick again on the cable the same as the BushBFsat01HD and the Grundig Gufsat01HD which keeps the boxes cool.
The EPG is similar to the Bush BFsat01HD and theGrundig Gufsat01HD, all clear, intuitive and easy to navigate between menus and a joy to use.
Conclusion;
The Goodmans GFsat200HD is a quality set top box which many will find they love, for picture quality and easy remote navigation. The picture upscaling and in HDMI is excellent and you would be hard pushed to find fault with this one.
