HUMAX FOXSAT COMPONENT CONNECTION DISABLED.

HUMAX FOXSAT COMPONENT CONNECTION DISABLED.

HUMAX FOXSAT SET TOP BOX UPDATE 1.07 seems to have moved the goalposts with respect to HD viewing.
The latest Humax Foxsat set top box update has raised a few questions with regards to viewing HD programmes via the component connection and has left many Humax Foxsat viewers with no component output on HD channels on the BBC HD freesat platform.
We have had questions which are getting more difficult to answer about the Humax Foxsat and some have come from viewers who have bought the Humax Foxsat solely because it has component output as their TV's have no HDMI sockets. Many who already have the Humax Foxsat and suggest that the picture was better via the analogue component rather than the HDMI socket.
The 1.07 update to the Humax Foxsat does not affect the Grundig Gufsat, Goodmans GFsat or the Bush BFsat set top boxes as these have no component outputs.
The strong possibility of the freesat platform promises more and more HD channels being added to the platform so the loss of the Humax Foxsat component means that any future HD channels may be showing a black screen via the component output. This will mean that the Humax Foxsat freesat set top box adverts may need to be changed to allow for this component change.
In hindsite we are surprised that the component door had been left open by Humax as we were under the impression that ALL freesat boxes prior to launch were expected to have content management built in to control copying and export of content switched on.
We now know the use for the Humax Foxsat component output can be used for upscaling of non-HD content.
Buyers should not be influenced by the loss of the component connection as we feel this should already have been implemented on the component connection and it does not take away from the more than capable Humax Foxsat set top box.
Is it news to you ? then you read it here first!
